Philanthropies
Delta Zeta Sorority’s national philanthropy is hearing and speech. Our national philanthropic program, Heart for Hearing, provides a variety of ways in which our chapters and members raise money and volunteer for hearing and speech. Through our partnership with the Starkey Hearing Foundation, members can support their work around the world, with Starkey fitting and giving more than 100,000 hearing aids annually. In 2020, we added a partnership with the American Society for Deaf Children to broaden our domestic impact through awareness and education. Through this partnership, Delta Zeta members can learn more about American Sign Language (ASL), gain a greater understanding of deaf culture, spread awareness and become informed and effective allies of the deaf community. Delta Zeta also partners with SeriousFun Children’s Network for our global service project. SeriousFun is made up of 30 member camps and programs around the world offering life-changing camp experiences to children living with serious illnesses and their families, totally free of charge. The Delta Zeta Foundation provides support for the sorority’s leadership and service programs, awards scholarships to members and maintains the Delta Zeta Historical Museum in Oxford, Ohio.
