Philanthropies
There are three aspects of philanthropy in Tri Delta: sisters helping sisters through the Tri Delta Foundation; support of children’s cancer charities at the local and regional level; and a national partnership with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The Tri Delta Foundation assists our members as they live–by providing emergency financial assistance to sisters facing unforeseen financial crises, as they learn–by providing academic scholarships to deserving undergraduate and graduate members and as they lead–by providing grants to the fraternity for leadership and educational programs. In 1974, Tri Delta adopted children’s cancer charities as their philanthropic focus, and today, collegiate and alumnae chapters support local and regional children’s hospitals and pediatric cancer initiatives across North America. In 1999, Tri Delta established a national partnership with St. Jude. Since then, Tri Delta has raised more than $60 million for St. Jude — helping increase the overall survival rate of childhood cancer from 20 percent in 1962 to more than 80 percent today.
