Philanthropies

Delta Gamma’s motto is “do good,” chosen by our three founders. Our ongoing pursuit to do good persisted when, in 1936, a member who was blind petitioned to adopt Service for Sight as our official philanthropy. We later became the first women’s organization to form a charitable foundation. Service for Sight promotes access and advocacy for people in the blind and visually impaired community, including supporting five Delta Gamma Schools for Children with Visual Impairments. The Delta Gamma Foundation supports individual members by awarding merit and need-based scholarships, graduate fellowships and crisis grants. The foundation also funds training and programming for mental health, diversity, equity and inclusion, hazing prevention, alcohol and sexual assault education and leadership development. Delta Gamma exists to empower women to act with intention so they become an unstoppable force for good.
