Reinstatement to Good Standing
When a member has a status of Withdrawal or Dismissal, she can request Reinstatement to Good Standing. A member can request Reinstatement to Good Standing as a collegian or as an alumna—regardless of if undergraduate coursework is complete.
Stipulations for Reinstatement to Good Standing
- A member who is an undergraduate student and wishes to return as a collegiate member shall request Reinstatement via Executive Council. Executive Council’s recommendation will be considered by the Membership Review Committee.
- A member who wishes to return as an alumna shall request Reinstatement via IHQ staff.
- For all requests made within three years of the initial status change, IHQ staff will contact the initiating chapter’s Executive Council for additional information.
- A woman who is still completing her undergraduate coursework but wishes to reinstate her membership as an alumna member can do so by following the Reinstatement to Good Standing procedures for alumnae members.
- The member must complete the Reinstatement to Good Standing Application indicating her desire to maintain normal membership responsibilities. Additionally, members requesting to return as collegiate members should complete the Change in Membership Status-Member Requested form. The Reinstatement Fee and all financial obligations from the date of the status change shall be paid in full. Promissory or installment notes are not acceptable.
- A member whose membership is reinstated has all the privileges, obligations and responsibilities of Fraternity membership. No stigma shall be attached to her or to her name following Reinstatement.
- The Membership Review Committee has the authority to approve a member’s Reinstatement to Good Standing for whom Reinstatement was not recommended by Executive Council.
Procedures for Reinstatement
- The member must complete the Reinstatement to Good Standing Application indicating her desires to maintain normal membership responsibilities. If she is requesting to return as an Alumna member, this is her last step.
- Additionally, members requesting to return as collegiate members should complete the Change in Membership Status-Member Requested form (see appendix). The second page of this form must be completed by the chapter.
- If the member is requesting to return as a Collegiate member, the Chapter should email the CIMS paperwork to cims@alphagammadelta.org for Membership Review Committee approval.
- Following approval, staff will email a link for the Reinstated member to pay the $100 reinstatement fee online, or they may send a check or money order to International Headquarters.
